Not everyone who joins Tennis Valley wants to play competitively. Accordingly, every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 5:00pm is officially ‘Social Sunday’.
Club Captain Col Ritchie takes the time each week to come down to the club on Sundays and allocate courts to those who enjoy social play. He organises 8 game sets, loosely based on standard to ensure everyone gets a good hit… but he also mixes things up so you get to know as many of your fellow club members as possible. It’s all about having fun, playing good tennis in good company.
There is no extra charge for this organised tennis… it’s all included in your annual membership fee. If you only want to play socially, you can elect to join the club as a ‘social member’ only |

The club also runs one day round robin events known as ‘Chicken Comps.’, which are more about social fun than competition. These are usually held in the breaks between organised competitions on Saturday afternoons.
There’s a small entry fee and prizes of frozen chickens and bottles of wine are awarded to the winners of various divisions, based on playing standard.
